trompe-l'oeil [tromp-loey]

English Translation
fool the eye

It is not a new concept, but I never grow tired of the fabric scrim trompe l'oeil that depicts an image of the building it is covering, hiding the messy construction work taking place behind it. The intention is not to fool the casual observer, but to enhance the visual experience. The image here is The Casino de Monte-Carlo undergoing a restoration and if you look closely, you might see Chef Grenouille waving from one of the balconies or is it trompe l'oeil?
